Henderson s social media says goodbye: Ajax will always occupy a special position in my heart, wishing you a smooth future

Henderson terminated his contract with Ajax and is reported to be joining Brentford without a visa. He posted on social media to say goodbye to Ajax.

"I will always look back on the past 18 months with great pride. When I first came to Ajax, I immediately felt the foundation and history of this club. Although I knew that the team was in a difficult period, the uniqueness of Ajax was self-evident - a true European giant represents a unique football style, and this trait and values will continue forever.

The first six months I joined the team were full of challenges. However, it is crucial that we successfully qualify for the European Games. With the arrival of Farioli and his team, a new chapter kicked off, and since then, I can feel the team’s strength is growing weekly, still competing for the championship until the last day of the season and successfully qualifying for the Champions League – I think no one would have expected this before the start of last season.

Unfortunately, we ended up not winning the championship, but we achieved so much together, which was particularly evident after the final game of the season – fans across the court stayed to applaud the players and coaching staff Huh. At that moment, I realized what we have created together and how special our journey is.

Most importantly, we have brought reasons to cheer and moments worth looking forward to for amazing fans. We let the fans see their passionate teams put their best on the court, and this feeling I will always remember.

Thanks to the players, staff, fans and everyone related to Ajax, it is my honor to be the captain of the club. I hope you guys can see that every time you step on the ball I'm going to give my all to the field. I will miss the days I spend with this group of players, but I will always pay attention to and support them from afar.

I wish you all the best in the future, and I hope John (Hetinga) and his players can go further this season. They deserve it - so are fans, success will eventually return, and it will be soon.

I look forward to returning to the Amsterdam Arena with my family in the future and supporting the team as a fan. Ajax will always occupy a special place in our hearts."
