Promote short-lived genes to affect growth and strengthen 4 healthy habits to help prolong your life for 5 years

Not everyone can live to 100 years old, but working hard to live a long life is a chance, especially for those who have premature deaths, raising certain health habits is the key to prolonging life.

A study published in the "BMJ Evidence Based Medicine" shows that by simply adjusting your daily habits, your life may increase by 5.5 years.

In this study, scientists conducted a 13-year follow-up study of more than 350,000 European sects, studying the comprehensive photos of lifestyle and education on human life.

Overall, researchers found that although genes and lifestyles seem to have cumulative effects on human life, the likelihood of premature death by following an unhealthy lifestyle will increase by 78%.

In addition, people with premature death risk and follow an unhealthy lifestyle are twice as likely to die prematurely than people who have no premature death risk and have a healthy lifestyle.

However, the results of the study also show that the risk of premature death may be offset by a good lifestyle by about 62%. Researchers suggest that those with premature death risk can extend their expected life by nearly 5.5 years if they have a healthy lifestyle at the age of 40.

What healthy habits can prolong your life?

The study examined six lifestyle factors for each person, including smoking status, physical activity, diet, alcohol consumption, body shape, and sleep habits.

However, researchers found that the following four factors seem to form the best lifestyle combination, with the greatest impact on long-term poverty:

. Smoking: Those who do not smoke or never smoke have a lower risk of premature death than those who smoke.

. Sports: People with the lowest risk meet the recommended guidelines for American human fitness activities, which recommends adults to perform at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity and two days of strength training per week.

. Sleeping: The best person sleeps seven to eight hours a night.

. Diet: Eating a healthy diet containing a lot of fruits and vegetables is associated with a lower risk of premature death.

Just as one bad habit often leads to another bad habit, a complex and healthy lifestyle can bring better benefits and thus prolong life.

It should be noted that the study is observant. Therefore, researchers can only say that certain factors are connected to longer life, rather than actually causing someone to live longer.

Dr. Xue Li, a collaborator of the study, told webMD, "Our suggestion is to focus on growing and maintaining healthy habits, regardless of your genes."
