Post: Chelsea s chief revenue officer resigns, jersey advertisements are still whiteboards
Casper Steelswig left Stamford Bridge after less than two years as Chelsea's chief revenue officer, and the club has not found a jersey sponsor.
Stilswig joined Chelsea in November 2023, after he held the same position at AC Milan. At the time, former Chelsea CEO Chris Jurasek praised the new executive's "business and football experience."
Before heading to Milan, Steelswig worked for Fulham for three years and served as Director of Global Sponsorship at Manchester United for eight years, and began his career in Barcelona.
Chelsea is currently the only top team without a jersey sponsor, which is an important source of revenue in the era of profit and sustainability rules. It is understood that they have received some offers, but none of them have reached an agreement.
The club is reportedly seeking sponsorship fees of £60 million to £65 million a year, and Saudi new airline Riyadh Air is considered the most likely partner.
Last season, Chelsea did not have a jersey sponsor until a short-term agreement with Dubai real estate company Damac. They also had no jersey sponsors at the start of the season and later reached a £40 million deal with US technology company Infinite Athlete.
