【Official Announcement】

Liverpool Football Club sincerely thanks and deeply appreciates all those who have taken the time and continued to spend time leaving memorial items for Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva at Anfield Stadium.

Since the tragic death of the two brothers, thousands of physical memorial objects, including flowers, scarves, works of art, cards, banners and opponents' team jerseys, have formed a beautiful memorial area.

This touching memorial place has become the center for many mourners, including Liverpool players, staff and the families of the brothers to express their condolences.

Club has officially announced that it will retire the No. 20 jersey to permanently commemorate Diogo after consultation with Diogo's family. This decision will cover all levels of the club, including Liverpool Women's Football and Youth Training Academy.

Club is now announcing specific arrangements for the permanent commemoration plan: In the past week, thousands of mourning items outside Anfield Stadium have been gradually removed and have been properly preserved after professional sorting. Flower memorials will be composted and used for flower bed cultivation at all club venues (including Anfield Stadium, AXA Training Base and AXA Melwood Training Center); the rest of the items will be recycled by professional companies to create permanent commemorative sculptures, and will become an important memorial landmark at Anfield Stadium in the future.

At present, Anfield has set up a temporary memorial area for the people to continue to express their condolences.

If fans wish to customize the jersey with the words "Diogo J. 20" printed in the official store or online mall to commemorate Diogo, all proceeds will be donated to the club's official charity LFC Foundation. The foundation promises to create a grassroots football development program in the name of Diogo.

The memorial sessions will be set up in all preseasons, including the double event between Anfield and Athletic Bilbao on August 4. During the two preseason games in Asia, the players' jerseys will be sewn with a specially designed "Diogo J. 20" commemorative medal. Flower dedication ceremony will be held before the match in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Anfield.

When the new season jersey is released on August 1, the player equipment will permanently sew the "Forever 20" commemorative badge, and the design will run through the competition uniforms and off-court suits throughout the season.

The main commemorative activities are scheduled to be held in the first round of the Premier League (Anfield vs. Bournemouth) on Friday, August 15, including fans' puzzle tribute and silence ceremony. The specific arrangements will be announced separately.

Club once again thanks everyone for their continued support.
