FIFA official: Combination of international match days in September and October begins next year
FIFA has updated the international match day calendar from 2025 to 2030. Starting from 2026, the international match day in September and October will be merged each year.
Previously, there were international match days in September, October and November. This year's September international match days just ended last week. From June to 14 in October, all international players will gather again, and November is from the 10th to the 18th.
However, according to the new calendar released by FIFA, the international match days in September and October will be merged from 2026, and the international match days in November will continue to be retained. Next year, the international match days from September to October will last from September 21 to October 6.
According to previous reports, starting from 2026, national teams of various countries will need to complete four games during the international match day from September to October. It is reported that the main reason for FIFA's adjustment is to reduce the number of players traveling across continents. For example, African and South American players playing football in Europe often have to travel long distances to return to China to participate in national team competitions.
