BBC: Man who drove and hit someone during Liverpool s championship parade pleaded not guilty, denying 31 charges

The man who drove and hit someone during the Liverpool championship parade pleaded not guilty and denied 31 charges.

When fans celebrated Liverpool's Premier League championship parade on May 26, a Ford Galaxy car crashed into a crowd in the center of Liverpool, injuring more than 130 people, including eight children.

Former Royal Marine Paul Doyle, 53, was charged with intentional serious injury and dangerous driving, and he attended a Liverpool Criminal Court hearing via prison video and pleaded not guilty to each charge.

The defendant, who lives on Burgill Road, West Derby, Liverpool, alleges involves the case of injury to two babies. The court heard that its defense team faced major difficulties during the prison visit and needed to wait weeks for face-to-face meetings or video-linked meetings.

Administrative Simon Soka, a defense lawyer, said: "The current system is completely ineffective."
