There are several taboos when bathing dogs in winter. See if you are stepping on them?
Winter is not a friendly season in the eyes of many people, because it is really too cold. Especially for many dog owners, it is even more painful.
Because, even in winter, we have to walk our dogs on time and we cannot go out because we are too cold and don’t want to move. More importantly, in our opinion, walking the dog ≈ getting dirty ≈ giving the dog a bath. Even if we are reluctant, we still have to bathe the dog after it becomes dirty.
But when bathing your dog in winter, you must pay attention to these points, otherwise it may hurt the dog.
1. The number of bathing should not be too much. In winter, the number of bathing dogs must be reduced in moderation, so as to effectively prevent the dog from catching a cold due to bathing. And in winter, dogs don't like taking a bath.
Whether in winter or summer, the number of times the dog is bathed too frequently. Because dogs have a special protective film on their hair, if they bathe too frequently, they will destroy the protective film, and the dog may suffer from skin diseases.
2. The temperature should not be too low when taking a bath. It is always cold in winter. Before bathing the dog, be sure to avoid the coldest time of the day: in the morning and at night, otherwise the dog will easily get sick and catch a cold.
If you encounter severe weather such as rain and snow, and you can clearly feel that the temperature drops significantly, you need to postpone the bath as much as possible and choose a relatively warm weather bath, because paying attention to keeping warm can effectively avoid dogs catching colds.
3. The water temperature should not be too high
When bathing the dog, the water temperature should be controlled at 35-38 degrees. Do not be too high. Too high water temperature will not bring too much warmth to the dog. Instead, it will cause the dog's blood vessels to dilate and affect the blood supply to the brain.
