Man performs cardiac resuscitation to save cat, doctor: Thanks to the timely rescue
On October 20, a couple shared a video of performing cardiac resuscitation on a kitten that was dying and stiff, and aroused the interest of many netizens. It was learned that the couple sent the kitten to a pet hospital for treatment after it resumed breathing. The kitten's condition has improved. The pet doctor who treated the kittens believed that it was "a miracle" that cardiac resuscitation was able to revive the dying kittens, thanks to the cat owner's timely rescue.
Cardiac resuscitation for more than an hour
Rescued a dying kitten that was already stiff?
Netizen "@大夏的生活" often posts videos, sharing details of the couple's recuperation and rural life in a small mountain village in Yunnan due to illness. Recently, a video of a husband resuscitating a dying kitten and resuscitating the kitten aroused the interest of many netizens. Some netizens left messages: "It turns out that if you don't give up, miracles will really happen" and "It's really amazing, I was so moved when I saw it"...

I learned from "Yu Daxia" that this kitten is more than one month old and was adopted from the village. The kitten was very lively for the first two days at his house, and even meowed on the night of the 19th. On the morning of October 20, he took the kitten to bask in the sun outside the yard. The moment he put it on the ground, he found that the kitten was stiff and not breathing.
"Yu Daxia" performed cardiac resuscitation on the kitten. At first, the kitten was stiff and still not breathing. The kitten suddenly opened its mouth midway, and then became unresponsive again. However, when the kitten was pressed, the cat's body slowly softened. "Yu Daxia" kept insisting on pressing. After he performed compressions on the cat for more than an hour, the cat finally resumed breathing, but its body was still very weak.
"Yu Daxia" said that he had seen someone perform cardiac resuscitation on TV before. "I also tried to do it to see if I could save the cat. We like animals more and there are two dogs at home. Among them is a white puppy that was picked up in the mountains some time ago. It was a stray dog! So we tried hard to (rescue) it. Unexpectedly, a miracle happened and (the cat) came to life. We were also very surprised!"
After rescuing the kitten, the couple sent it to a doctor at a pet hospital more than 30 kilometers away. After examination by the doctor at the pet hospital, it was found that the kitten had some diarrhea and was in poor physical condition. The doctor prescribed some medicine for the kitten, and the couple took it home.

Vet doctor:
Cardiac resuscitation can also be performed on kittens.
The pet doctor who rescued the kitten said that when Mr. and Mrs. Yu Daxia sent the kitten to the hospital, they told him that they had performed cardiac resuscitation on the kitten when it was near death, and sent it to the pet hospital after it recovered a little. The doctor remembered that the kitten was probably not yet weaned. When he arrived at the pet hospital, his heart rate was very weak and his body was limp.
The pet doctor analyzed that the reason why the kitten suffered cardiac arrest may be due to freezing, or it may be due to insufficient metabolism in the body due to malnutrition, which caused internal circulation disorders.
The doctor also said that if the cat owner had not performed compressions on the cat in time, there would have been no follow-up rescue. "It is a miracle that the male owner saved the kitten." Cardiac resuscitation can also be performed if the cat has an irregular heartbeat, difficulty breathing, or weak vital signs. The cat's chest is generally located between the third and seventh ribs, and compressions should be performed according to the cat's normal breathing rhythm.
In the video shared by "Yu Daxia", after taking the kitten home from the pet hospital, he made a simple incubator for it using cardboard and an electric oven. They also patiently feed the kittens food and medicine, and no matter what they feed the kittens, they will eat it in big gulps. On October 22, the condition of the rescued kitten gradually improved.
