If you want to rent an apartment, give a cat? Sign an agreement and the cat is delivered to your door, and you will no longer have to "suck the cat"!
People who have rented a house know that before moving in many houses, landlords will make some demands on the lessor, such as: they cannot keep pets, and landlords also have their own considerations. They are mainly worried that pets will damage furniture and dirty the house.
But there are some apartments in Japan. As long as you rent their house, you will get a cat for free. This is a huge benefit for people who are in a foreign land but cannot raise cats. They no longer need to "suck cats in the cloud"!
An animal protection organization called "Tokyo Cat Guardian" has jointly launched the "Cat Apartment" plan, hoping to provide stray cats with a safe and warm home by sending cats to tenants.
This non-profit organization has been committed to the rescue, sterilization, adoption and other work of stray cats. Thousands of stray cats are rescued throughout Japan every year, but most of these cats have not yet found suitable adoptive families, so they proposed the idea of a "cat apartment".
Tokyo Cat Guardian first contacted the local real estate agency. Landlords who are interested in participating in this project can indicate "Lease an apartment and keep a cat for free" when publishing rental advertisements on the website. There is no cat in the apartment itself. Tenants who want to raise cats first sign a rental agreement with the landlord through an agent, and then sign a cat rental agreement with the cat rescue organization. Before tenants move into the apartment, the staff of the animal protection organization will review their various conditions, including whether the tenant has a stable income and whether they can provide a safe and healthy living environment for cats. After the review is passed, the tenant can choose one of the rescued cats as their "lending roommate", and the cat will then be delivered to the door by professionals.
It must be noted that at this time the ownership of the cat still belongs to an animal protection organization, and the tenant's identity is more like the owner of the cat's temporary foster care. Tenants have no right to transfer the cat to others for breeding, of course, these are reflected in the "cat rental agreement".
The most important point is that all cats are adult cats over one year old, because kittens are easier to adopt, and almost no adult or elderly cats are adopted. The Cat Apartment Project also hopes that these cats who have not experienced the warmth of their families since birth can also have a happy home.
All cats for rent have been spayed and vaccinated. Tenants only need to bear the food and medical expenses of the cats during the rental process. If you have any questions during the cat raising process, you can directly consult the stray cat protection organization. Therefore, even those who raise cats for the first time can start a new life with the cat.
If the tenant checks out for some reason or is unable to raise a cat for some reason, he can directly send the cat back to the stray cat protection organization, and they will help the cat find the next temporary "owner". If the tenant wants to adopt a cat and live with it, he can also go through the permanent adoption procedures directly. Once the plan for "Cat Apartment" was launched, it attracted many cat slaves, most of which were young people with stable jobs, and many good house types were snatched away. Of course, the review of tenants is also quite strict. The current success rate of signing is about 60%, and many cats have found a permanent home because of this policy!
Xiao Ai thinks this idea is very good. It not only promotes the housing rental industry, but also allows many people who like cats to realize their dream of "raising cats", and also gives stray cats at the rescue station a temporary residence, which can be said to be "a killing three goals in one fell swoop"! But this also has a disadvantage. Will cats frequently change their owners also cause harm to their body and mind? We are still unknown.
